EDDMapS is an advanced mapping platform designed to document the distribution of invasive species. Real-time visualization of species distribution supports Early Detection and Rapid Response (EDRR) initiatives aimed at controlling or eradicating invasive species before they establish unmanageable populations. This proactive approach helps mitigate long-term ecological and economic impacts.

All collected data is scrutinized by qualified verifiers to guarantee accuracy. Once validated, it is freely available to a broad audience—including scientists, researchers, land managers, landowners, conservationists, ecologists, farmers, foresters, as well as officials in state and federal agencies—thus fostering collaborative efforts in invasive species management.
